1st – Mathematics

The Year 1 mathematics curriculum focuses on developing basic skills in numeracy, geometry, measurement, and problem solving. Students learn to read, write, and order numbers up to 100, perform simple addition and subtraction calculations, and recognize relationships between numbers. In geometry, they identify and describe basic geometric shapes and explore concepts of symmetry. Students are also introduced to measurement, understanding time, and using non-standard units to measure objects. The goal is to develop logical thinking and the ability to solve problems in a variety of contexts.
