MCV4U - 12th, Differential calculus and vectors

Calculus and Vectors, Grade 12, University Preparation Course (MCV4U) This course allows students to use their knowledge of functions to increase their understanding of rates of change. Students solve problems involving vectors and the representation of lines and planes in space using algebraic and geometric methods. Students increase their understanding of rates of change, including the derivatives of polynomial, rational, exponential, sinusoidal, and radical functions, and apply them to modeling various everyday situations. Throughout the course, students learn to communicate clearly and precisely the steps involved in their mathematical reasoning. This course is of particular interest to students who wish to enroll in university courses on calculus and linear algebra, among other things, or who wish to pursue studies in physics, engineering, economics, and other related disciplines. Prerequisite: Students may take both Grade 12 courses Advanced Functions and Calculus and Vectors concurrently, or take Advanced Functions and then Calculus and Vectors first.
