Geography: Introduction to Spatial Technologies, Grade 11, Open Course (CGT3O) This course provides students with practical knowledge in the field of spatial technologies and the opportunity to explore career opportunities in this field. Students also develop skills in using various techniques associated with geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), and remote sensing. Using critical thinking concepts in geography and the inquiry process, students acquire the skills necessary to conduct field studies, collect and organize data, and analyze spatial images, such as maps and aerial photographs. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on applying knowledge of the student's local context. Prerequisite: Canadian Geographic Issues, Grade 9, Academic or Applied Course, or Exploring Canada's Geography, Grade 9, Open Course
