Equity, Diversity and Social Justice, Grade 11, Pre-Employment Course (HSE3E) This course allows students to address issues related to equity, diversity and social justice in different contexts. Students study various manifestations of power relations in Canadian society as well as the mechanisms by which society can shape people's identities. Students also learn how to respond to situations of discrimination, harassment and denial of rights. Designing an initiative on equity, diversity or a social justice issue provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in these areas. This course, like all courses in the Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum, also targets the development of research and communication skills. Prerequisite: None
