Career Exploration, Grade 10, Open Course (GLC2O) (Revised 2024) This course provides students with skills, knowledge, and habits that will assist them in their learning, career, and life planning. Students will explore global trends in the labor market and seek opportunities, both at school and in the community, to develop and strengthen their transferable skills and their ability to adapt to the changing world of work. Through exploratory activities, reflective practice, and decision-making processes, students will learn to connect their skills, interests, values, and post-secondary options, including apprenticeship training, college, community living, university, or the workforce. They will set goals and develop a plan for their first year of post-secondary education. As part of their preparation for the future, students will become familiar with personal financial management, including various savings and borrowing tools and ways to take advantage of them, and will prepare a budget for their first year after graduating from high school.
