Geography Spatial Technologies in Action, Grade 12, University/College Preparation (CGO4M) This course provides students considering a career in spatial technologies with a practical foundation of knowledge in this field. Students analyze and propose solutions to various spatial organization issues such as improving the road network, locating community services, and establishing environmental protection and conservation zones. Students also develop technical skills related to the use of a geographic information system (GIS), a global positioning system (GPS), and remote sensing technology to produce maps, charts, and graphs. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to use critical thinking concepts in geography and the inquiry process to analyze various issues related to spatial organization. Prerequisite: Any pre-university, pre-university/pre-college or pre-college course in the Canadian and World Studies, French or Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum
