CHF4C - 12th, French Ontario

History French Ontario, Grade 12, College Preparation (CHF4C) This course examines the origins and development of Ontario's Francophone community from the 17th century to the present day. Students will study the political, economic, and social contexts that have been a source of cooperation or conflict for Ontario's Francophones and that have helped shape their identity and cultural heritage. Using critical thinking concepts in history and the process of inquiry, which includes analyzing and interpreting evidence, students will acquire the skills necessary to develop an awareness of their cultural identity and play a role in their community, province, and country. Prerequisite: Any University Preparation, University/College Preparation, or College Preparation course in the Canadian and World Studies, French, or Social Sciences and Humanities curricula.
