Food and Culture, Grade 11, Pre-Employment Course (HFC3E) This course introduces students to the aromas and flavors of world cuisines. Students learn to cook with ingredients and equipment used in various cultures, to present dishes typical of these cultures, and to observe the specific rules of table etiquette associated with them. The course also allows them to explore the influence of world cuisines on the food choices of Canadians. Throughout the course, students are required to apply their knowledge of safe food preparation and cooking techniques. This course, like all courses in the Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum, also targets the development of research and communication skills. Prerequisite: None
