Healthy Eating for All, Grade 12, Pre-Employment Course (HFL4E) This course provides students with a foundation of knowledge about what constitutes a healthy diet, with particular attention to the needs of young adults. Students explore principles that guide the design of a beginner's kitchen, develop strategies for making wise food choices, and become more aware of the nutritional needs of those around them. Students learn to cook a variety of foods while applying their knowledge of safe food preparation and cooking techniques used in the food industry. In addition, the course allows students to explore various career options in the food industry. This course, like all courses in the Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum, also targets the development of research and communication skills. Prerequisite: None
