Nutrition and Health, Grade 12, College Preparation (HFA4C) This course allows students to analyze the links between nutrition and health at different stages of life and to address global issues related to food production. Students study the role of nutrients in a person's health, develop an understanding of the principles of healthy eating, analyze various factors that influence food choices and their impact on the local and global environment. Throughout the course, students are required to apply their knowledge of safe food preparation and cooking techniques. This course, like all courses in the Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum, also targets the development of research and communication skills. Prerequisite: Any University Preparation, University/College Preparation, or College Preparation course in the Humanities and Social Sciences, French, or Canadian and World Studies curriculum.
