Economics Analysis of Major Contemporary Economic Issues, Grade 12, University Preparation (CIA4U) This course explores national and global economic issues. Students explore various perspectives on strategic decisions and the implications of choices made by individuals and political and economic institutions, including governments, to address the challenges of globalization and economic inequality at the local, national, and international levels. By using critical thinking concepts in economics and the inquiry process, including economic theories and models, students acquire the skills necessary to study economic trends, policies, agreements, and development, and to form more informed opinions on economic choices, sustainable development, and current economic issues. Prerequisite: Any university preparation or university/college preparation course in the Canadian and World Studies, French, or Social Sciences and Humanities programs.
