Geography Global Issues: A Geographic Analysis, Grade 12, College Preparation (CGW4C) This course examines the many current issues facing Canada and the world. Students explore issues such as inequalities in access to food, water, energy, and other essential goods; urbanization; globalization; and the dilemma of meeting the needs of a growing world population while ensuring environmental sustainability. Geographic analysis leads students to explore the political, economic, social, and environmental perspectives on these and other global issues. Using critical thinking concepts in geography, the inquiry process, and spatial technologies, students develop the skills needed to understand the complexity of an increasingly interdependent world and make responsible choices. Prerequisite: Canadian Geographic Issues, Grade 9, theoretical or applied course, or Exploring Canadian Geography, Grade 9, open-ended course
