MPM2D - 10th, Principles of Mathematics

Principles of Mathematics, Grade 10, Theoretical Course (MPM2D) This course allows students to study quadratic functions and equations, problem solving in analytical geometry, and the principles of trigonometry. Students analyze situations modeled by quadratic functions. They solve quadratic equations and model and solve problems involving the intersection of lines. In addition, students verify properties of triangles and quadrilaterals using analytical geometry. They study the principles of trigonometry and apply them to solve problems related to right and acute triangles. Throughout the course, students learn to argue and communicate the steps of their mathematical reasoning clearly and precisely. Prerequisite: Mathematics, Grade 9, Open-Ended Course (2021), or Principles of Mathematics, Grade 9, Theoretical Course (2005)
