AVI1O - 9th, Visual Arts

Visual Arts Visual Arts, Grade 9, Open Course (AVI1O) This course allows students to use the processes of creation and critical analysis in visual arts to create and present their studio work as well as to help organize exhibitions. By studying several works in art history – including works from Prehistory, the civilizations of Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt, and the 20th century in Canada and particularly in French Ontario – students acquire knowledge and develop their sense of belonging to the Francophonie. The aspects, modes of expression, materials and techniques to which students are exposed allow them to become familiar with the skills necessary to personalize their work in visual arts. The course also encourages students to respect the world of visual arts by providing them with the opportunity to become involved in the issues of the visual arts community and to work diligently, both alone and in a team.
