Law: Understanding Everyday Canadian Law, Grade 11, Workplace Readiness Course (CLU3E) This course provides practical information on legal issues that affect the daily lives of individuals in Canada. Students examine the reasons for the need for a society to be governed by laws, as well as the rights, freedoms, and responsibilities of individuals in Canada. Other topics covered include family law, employment law, and procedures related to criminal offenses. Using critical thinking concepts in law and the inquiry process, students acquire the skills necessary to interpret legal issues, develop legal reasoning skills, and understand everyday Canadian law. Prerequisite: Canadian History Since the First World War, Grade 10, academic or applied, or a locally developed Canadian History course carrying a compulsory Grade 10 credit
