Visual Arts Visual Arts, Grade 10, Open Course (AVI2O) This course allows students to use the processes of creation and critical analysis in visual arts to produce and present their studio work and to help organize exhibitions, while demonstrating initiative and responsibility. Using several works in art history – including works from Greek and Roman Antiquity, Byzantium, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Baroque and Classical periods, New France and French Ontario – students become familiar with several approaches and styles. The aspects, modes of expression, materials and techniques to which students are exposed encourage them to develop their skills and acquire knowledge that will allow them to express their identity in their work in the visual arts and in the Francophonie. The course also encourages students to take an interest in the world of visual arts by providing them with the opportunity to get involved in the issues and debates of the visual arts community, and encourages them to be demanding in their own work and proactive in their teamwork.
