History World History to the End of the 15th Century, Grade 11, University/College Preparation (CHW3M) This course provides an overview of the history of early human civilizations from prehistory to the end of the 15th century. It allows students to examine various factors that explain the emergence, influence, and decline of these ancient civilizations, to study their distinctive features and major achievements, and to evaluate their contribution to the heritage of humanity. By using the concepts of critical thinking in history and the process of inquiry, which includes the analysis and interpretation of evidence, students acquire the skills necessary to evaluate the political, economic, and social structures and historical forces of ancient times. Prerequisite: Canadian History Since the First World War, Grade 10, Academic or Applied Course
