Major Religions and Traditional Beliefs: Perspectives, Issues and Challenges, Grade 11, University/College Preparation (HRT3M) This course allows students to explore various religions and traditional beliefs in a local, Canadian and global context through the study of the rites, symbols and traditions of these religions and beliefs. Students explore the quest for meaning, the study of sacred texts and oral traditions, the manifestations of beliefs in contemporary life and the challenges associated with them. This course also addresses the social, cultural and historical contexts that have marked the history of various religions and traditional beliefs. This course, like all those in the Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum, also targets the development of research and communication skills. Prerequisite: None
