2nd – Mathematics

In mathematics, the Grade 2 curriculum in Ontario focuses on strengthening numeracy and problem-solving skills. Students deepen their understanding of numbers up to 100, as well as the concepts of addition and subtraction, by working with larger numbers and solving more complex problems. They also explore geometry concepts, including the properties of shapes and symmetry. Students learn to measure with standard units, such as centimeters and meters, and to understand the concepts of time and money. The curriculum emphasizes the application of mathematics in real-life situations.
