3rd – Mathematics
The Grade 3 mathematics curriculum in Ontario focuses on developing skills in numeracy, geometry, measurement, data, and problem-solving. Students expand their knowledge of basic operations, including the addition and subtraction of larger numbers, and begin to explore multiplication and division. They also develop their understanding of more complex geometric shapes and their properties. In measurement, students learn to use standard units to measure length, weight, and capacity. In data, they collect, organize, and interpret information in the form of graphs and tables. The goal is to encourage students to apply mathematics to everyday situations and solve problems logically.
