3rd – Social Studies

The Grade 3 social studies curriculum in Ontario explores the concepts of geography, culture, and citizenship. Students learn to read and create maps, and understand geographic concepts such as compass points, regions, and landscapes. They also explore different cultures by studying the traditions, customs, and lifestyles of different communities. Regarding citizenship, students are introduced to the rights and responsibilities of citizens, as well as the importance of community and civic participation. The goal is to help students better understand their place in the world and appreciate cultural diversity.
