4th – French

The Grade 4 French curriculum in Ontario focuses on improving oral communication, reading, and writing skills. In oral communication, students are encouraged to organize their ideas logically and coherently, ask open-ended questions, express their opinions, and listen actively. In reading, they explore texts from different genres, including fictional narratives and informational texts, and use advanced comprehension strategies, such as analyzing characters, themes, and motifs. In writing, students learn to write longer, more structured texts, such as stories, descriptions, and reports, while applying more complex grammatical rules. The goal is to strengthen students' ability to use French to communicate effectively in a variety of contexts.
