8th – Mathematics

Ontario's Grade 8 mathematics curriculum continues to strengthen students' skills in numeracy, geometry, measurement, data management, and problem solving. Students expand their knowledge of fractions, decimals, percents, and ratios, while applying algebraic concepts to solve linear equations and practical problems. In geometry, they explore transformations, symmetries, and the properties of two- and three-dimensional shapes. The program also includes the analysis and representation of statistical and probabilistic data, and emphasizes the use of mathematics to solve concrete problems in real-world situations.
