8th – Science and technology

The Grade 8 science curriculum in Ontario covers several areas, including life science, physical science, and Earth and space science. In life science, students explore cell reproduction, heredity, and biological systems such as the circulatory and respiratory systems. In physical science, they study matter, energy, forces, motion, and fundamental physics principles, such as Newton's laws. The Earth and space science curriculum includes the study of climate change, geological processes, and astronomical phenomena. Students participate in experiments to strengthen their understanding and ability to analyze scientific data.
