HLS3O - 11th, Housing and design

Housing and Design, Grade 11, Open Course (HLS3O) This course introduces students to several issues related to housing and design and raises their awareness of housing needs through the study of various types of housing. Students address housing maintenance and security as well as the social, cultural, environmental, and economic concerns associated with housing. Using the elements and principles of design, students analyze decisions inherent in decorating and space planning. The course also allows them to explore various career possibilities in the housing, architecture, and design industries. This course, like all those in the Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum, also targets the development of research and communication skills. Prerequisite: None
