Human Development, Grade 12, University/College Preparation (HHG4M) This course provides students with a multidisciplinary approach to the study of human development at various stages of life. The study of various theoretical perspectives on human development leads students to a better understanding of their impact on their health and well-being, both now and over time. Students analyze factors that hinder or jeopardize healthy human development and others that promote it, including individual resilience. Students also study the physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional development of individuals, from the prenatal period to old age. The study of brain development and early childhood experiences aims to develop an understanding of the concepts of learning, development, and individual well-being. This course, like all courses in the humanities and social sciences curriculum, also targets the development of research and communication skills.
